Spring is here and for me, that means switching to a cleanser that doesn't leave a lot of residue behind and a moisturizer that keeps me looking hydrated without feeling greasy. A great line out of Australia does just that… I only wish it were available here in the States!
Products reviewed:
Lilly Pilly Milk Cleanser, 4.22 oz, $26 AUS
Grass Lilly Rich Moisturiser, 1.69 oz, $36 AUS
Number of times used: more than 10
Overall: Nice, natural/organic line available (sadly) in Australia only
Review:
Desert Pea isn't a technologically boosted line so don't expect claims of curing wrinkles and making you look 20 years younger, nor does it pretend to be the end all of facial products. What it does offer, as quoted on their website:
* skin care committed to providing easily accessible, natural alternatives free from added chemicals, colours and preservatives
* We believe 'natural' products should be derived from a natural source and should be available with a minimal amount of 'tampering'
* We are committed to educating therapists and in turn the broader public about the benefits of using natural products
* We do not advocate any form of misleading, deceptive marketing claims
* We believe that everyone has the right to know exactly what he/she is applying onto and into their bodies, and provide truthful information so that people can form their own opinion
* We aim to dispel some of the myths, claims and promises made in the cosmetic and skin care industry about cosmetics
The milk cleanser is a great addition to any facial regimen. It cleanses without stripping and is not overly scented, making it a hit for those with sensitive or mature skin. My favorite choice from this line is the Grass Lilly Moisturiser.
It is a superb facial lotion precisely because it goes on dry but leaves my skin looking and feeling hydrated and smooth. It can be used under your favorite facial powder and the scent is really quite nice. Overall, the two products I tried are made well and priced within reason. Right now, the website cart only ships throughout Australian, but maybe, if we're lucky, they'll be available at a web-boutique near you.
